Main activities Programme :

Origami is the ancient art of folding paper, following strict rules and a lot of creativity. This workshop will use origami to help the learners to pass usually communication problems in the daily activities, will make them more confident and with more personal awareness in interaction with different kind of group problems or communities, empowered them with some special abilities in transform a colour paper squares in a artistic object or in a communication tool. Using the training exercises the learners will understand better how observation, coordination, cooperation and the joy to play with this very cheap material can help in change of many aspects of everyday life. Ordinary people, disable people, social problems groups or interethnic communities, even interaction with personal children can be the “target” for a story with paper characters.

The trainer of this workshop – Eugenia BARBU starts to work with origami since 1997 for puppets theatre projects and she starts to be trainer in this field in 1999. In 2002 she found A.C.T.O.R. to develop important educational programs using origami like a communication tool. She has an important experience working with kindergarten children, youth and adults. The program includes workshop activities, intercultural events, meeting with local community and, of course, few hours of free time.

Daily activities:

Learning day 1: Introduction/ knowing the participants Ice breaking and names games/ Short origami history/ How we can use the paper /Origami and Internet/ Games from the childhood/ Discovering the expressivity of paper Travel with PC

Learning day 2: Origami – martial art / Express your ideas using different kinds of paper / Express your ideas using different ways of animation/ How to tell a story .

Learning day 3: Observation of the reality/ Basic origami rules- The participants will try to folds different styles and techniques in origami/ Animation with origami objects theatre / – storytelling/ The participants will create individual moments, or they will work in small groups trying to communicate personal ideas with paper puppets

Learning day 4: Creation of personal blogs/. / Animation with origami objects / – film The participants will work in two teams to create two short (one minute) animation movies with frame by frame technique

Learning day 5: Making a small exhibition the selection of the best models make during the

workshop – place Culture House of Codlea/ “Origami teacher” workshop for disadvantaged people in Coldlea Free workshop – possible place School of Art and Crafts /The final evaluation .
