Health Common Good – Second mobility – 08.04 – 09.05.2024

Between 8th of April and 9th of May, the second Team Volunteering mobility in the Health Common Good project took place in Bucharest, Romania. During this month, we hosted participants from Italy, Greece, France, Lebanon as well as Romanian volunteers.

This mobility came with another important mission for the volunteers, besides the clinical animation for children and adults in hospitals and social centers. This was our traditional fundraising campaign “De Florii, flori pentru copii!”, during which the volunteers made flowers out of colorful napkins, offered them in front of churches and helped in preparing the packages for the Easter presents.

In the first week of the project, the volunteers took part in teambuildng activities, as well as the On-Arrival and other trainings related to the activities. They got to know eachother on a deeper level and found out what the A.C.T.O.R. organization is willing to do during this month, in terms of activities and performances.

During the second week, they started to do clinical animation in “Neghinita”, “Harap-Alb”, “Alternativa” and “Robin Hood” day-care centers and in “Nicolae Robanescu” and “Marius Nasta” hospitals, alongside the long-term volunteers. Also, this was the week when they started the preparations for the Flower Campaign – making origami flowers, decorating the donation boxes and baskets and practising their Romanian language!

In the weekend of the third week – 27th-28th of April – we hosted the Flower Campaign. On Saturday there was a simulation for them to learn how to react in certain situations and on Sunday they went to churches to collect donations. This year they collected almost 1400 euros (7000 lei), which were turned into Easter presents for children in hospitals and centers (sweets, fruits, school and art supplies).

Last week of the project was dedicated to preparing the Easter presents for children and to going in every center to offer them! Also, it was about filling in the Youthpass certificates and syaing goodbye to the others!
