“Youth Engagement through Arts” – France Epinal 1-13.08.2013

Proiectul a avut trei seri deosebite in care fiecara tara participanta isi prezenta produse culinare si traditii.

Between 1st and 13th of August a team of nine A.C.T.O.R volunteers participated in the youth exchange “Youth Engagement through Arts”, a part of the Youth in Action programm, sustained by the European Union,  in the stylish little town Thaon-les-Vosges from Loren, France.  The project hosted 27 young people from three countries: Poland represented by Don Kultury Association from Tarnobrezeski,  France represented by Ligue de l’Enseignement des Vosges from Epinal and Thaon-les-Vosges and Romania represented by A.C.T.O.R from Bucharest and had as main topic road safety among young people. The youngsters attended two workshops: first workshop in acting / theater was supported by Karine Frere, and the second workshop – video editing and photo-by Charly Ganier.

In the workshop coordinated by Karine, participants were divided into groups of three that had to create a script for a small shooting related to the theme. Every day, another group, attended video / photo workshop under Charly supervision, in which they had the opportunity to experience a technical briefing about photography and film. At the end of two weeks of workshops, the young participants made a movie campaign against road accidents caused by various factors such as drunk driving, speed, fatigue, inattention or stress.

The project had three great nights -each participating country presented their culinary traditions. Another great part of this project was the trips in the surrounding towns starting with Epinal, then we visited Nancy where we could admire two cathedrals that have impressed by the variety of styles and stately air, and a slightly larger stop we made in Stanislas Square, which we all recognize that it is as beautiful as we heard. At Nancy we have had the dedicated and enthusiastic guide Julien, a French participant, now a new friend of the Romanian team. However, the best day of the whole experience was the day spent in Strasbourg. “The most impressive monument was, of course, the cathedral, which arises suddenly, in an eerie beauty, from surrounding houses that are reduced to minuscule by her stately shade.”

One last interesting happening in this project was the time spent at Spina Park, an French adventure park where participants tried alpinism and Tyrolean, a first time experience for many of them.
It must be said that besides communication and collaboration with participants from each country, one thing that was really great was the atmosphere of the Romanian group, which was quite a unit, despite the differences between members. The whole team met new people, personalities and ideologies and we  learned to appreciate and accept them as they are. We all become  significantly enriched at the end of this project for which we received an Youthpass, an certificat that attests that we participated in an Youth Exchange as a part of the Youth in Action programm, sustained by the European Union.  For many of us, this experience meant the most beautiful event of the summer.
