Shadow Theater Grundtvig Workshop 18-24.11.12

during the week, they experimented the magic of shadow theater. The participants explored different types of visual, non-verbal, communication, through which they could create extraordinary moments with just a light source, some pieces of paper and carton and recycled materials.

Each session brought the participants a new challenge of conception and moment creation for the show starting from: a given background soundtrack or from two images with no connection, or a song they heard for the first time, etc: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sWZ82Eoy0I&feature=plcp

The work was intense, but a lot of times the participants worked so hard and passionate that they forgot they needed small breaks now and then…

The Culture House of Codlea hosted the second time this year a show made by the participants of a Grundvig workshop.

The public consisted in 300 children fron kindergarten 1 Codlea, disadvantaged children and teenagers from Recuperatory Center „Bradet”, and children from a poor area of Codlea – they were very kind and gave a standing ovation to the participants’ work while having a great laugh. The atmosphere was full of creativity, joy and enthusiasm bringing each participant multiple epiphanies about each other’s cultures. An unforgettable moment was when Dance Group of Codlea hosted o session where they made an amazing demonstration of Romanian dances, and had the generosity to teach their guests as well. We hope this workshop will bring up more projects where shadow theater will be present.
